Transitions
In life, we’ll be faced with troubling obstacles that will require us to take the next step toward progression. Because of adversity in my life, I decided to move from Atlanta to New York. Making a transition could feel like the most devastating decision of your life. To just up and decide one day that something would change for you, whether it be for a limited time or forever. So when is it the right time to make a transition and how do you stay true to it?
You have to establish that something needs to change. But the difficulty will be the process of the transition more so the thought of it. There are things that need to be considered before a major change in your life. Having a plan will make your transition much smoother or you can take the spontaneous approach like me (it’s risky but if you’re a thrill seeker it’s a lot of fun!)
Once you know it’s time for a change, you’d have to grasp the concept of leaving your comfort zone. When you are too comfortable, life can become routine and stagnant and I believe being in a stagnant state, there’s no true productivity. After committing to the transition you have to be sure that there’s no looking back. Once you take your first step into a different lifestyle you have to be confident in that decision or you’ll start to stray.
But the most important thing to remember is, don’t be afraid to fail! Not having fear is oblivious but to let fear consume you is limiting. Don’t look at failure as a setback, look at it as a necessity for progression. Be proud of your failures and how far you’ve come. You’ll be amazed at how far you can go without letting the little things hinder you.
Hopefully, this life-changing transition will end positively for us. Make the best of it and enjoy your new adventure. It wouldn’t be a story worth telling if it didn’t have a little conflict, so embrace your mistakes. Let’s enjoy the ride and gain as much as we can from it. Continue to take your steps forward and best of luck to you!
